Summer Cinema in the Life of Cory


I live for experiences, both my own and the stories about those of others. In my efforts this past month to make the most of sick-days and Cory-time, I've tried to take in as many cinematic ones as I've had time to fit. This, by the way, was whenever I wasn't watching the entirety of the series Arrested Development. 

Recommended or discovered films I finally watched:

Local Look #1: Melrose Place(s)

My day off today called for a few treats, including but not limited to some pampering and an internet-free, iPhone-less date at one of my favorite caffeine escapes. I decided to treat myself to an iced mocha from Alfred , despite having no date this morning and very few friends who can typically day-date with me anyway. Rather than miss or dwell upon this memory-filled neighborhood of West Hollywood, I figured that I should do exactly the opposite of what my mind was telling me to ( drive far, far away , that is). LIB Part 1: Food is Beautiful

The Life is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas during the last weekend of October was a celebration of much more than just music. It highlighted so many of the riches in its name, Life: art, rock and roll, social entrepreneurship, community, and best of all... FOOD. One of the best parts of Chelsea's and my weekend in Las Vegas during LIB was all of the amazing eating, snacking and drinking we did throughout the Festival. It all began with our decision to stay in on Friday night, in preparation for the two straights days of debauchery and music-intake that we had ahead of us. We settled on ordering pizza and hydrating - with water only - because we thought we had a valid excuse to carbo-load. Pop-Up Pizza , circa LV, brought us two individual (yet definitely 12") pan pizzas that night, mine with spinach, soft white cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and roasted POTATOES. First Post.

So, it's finally happening. After days -  months,  really - of writer's block, procrastination, self-censorship and unadulterated fear, I've decided to re-launch my blogging efforts under a new form of the same alias: Extracordinary. Birthed from my love of puns and shameless appreciation for anything that could be deemed a "sign," my blog title of 24/7 represents both my age and my desire to write at all hours of the day, about any emotion or epiphany that one mere reader may find valuable to their sore, over-stimulated eyes as he or she gazes into the display of their MacBook Pro in the wee hours of the night. I write to taste life twice. I'll reflect for the remainder of age-24, my twenty-fifth year and 2013 as well as share some of those reflections with the blogosphere simply for the sake of feeling less than alone.
